The following tables report the numbers of arrests of people age seventeen and younger in each Chicago Police District in calendar years 2009-2010. Juveniles may be held in police custody while they are under investigation for criminal offenses. However, some juveniles are released without being charged: not all juvenile arrests result in court referral. Additionally, some juveniles may be arrested for multiple offenses during the same incident, so these data describe numbers of arrests, not numbers of individuals who were arrested or ultimately prosecuted.
